‘A GRADUAL DECLINE// ARCHITECTURE & THE ART OF EXILE IN FILM’ Palas Cinema, Galway

Patrick Jolley’s film Here After made in collaboration with Inger Lise Hansen and Rebecca Trost will be presented at A GRADUAL DECLINE// ARCHITECTURE & THE ART OF EXILE IN FILM. This event is a screening of artists’ films that explore embedded narrative atmospheres of architecture and the built environment. This screening is part of Architecture at the Edge (AATE), a weekend celebration of exceptional architecture in the West of Ireland.

This experimental film programme features work by artists: Michelle Deignan, Hilary Fennell, Seamus Nolan, Michele Horrigan, Patrick Jolley, Inger Lise Hansen, Rebecca Trost, Clare Langan, Megs Morley, Tom Flanagan and Julie Murray.

‘More than Bricks and Mortar: Works from the IMMA Collection’ Draíocht, Dublin

26 June - 13 October 2018

Draíocht will present Burn II, a photograph from Patrick Jolley’s Burn series on loan from the Irish Museum of Modern Art as part of the exhibition More than Bricks and Mortar. This exhibition is a collaboration between Draíocht and the children from Room 13 Inquiry providing a unique and exciting opportunity to reflect on meanings of home for children. Through sharing experiences of home and exchanging skills and knowledge of contemporary art, collections and curating, this collaboration will result in an exhibition that expands perceived notions of home at personal, social and cultural levels and give voice to a new generation of Irish children.

‘The Space Between’, Pearse Museum Rathfarnham, Ireland

Patrick Jolley’s Fog II  is currently on view at the Pearse Museum Rathfarnham as part of the annual joint touring exhibition of artworks from the collections of the OPW in the Republic of Ireland and the Department of Finance and Personnel (DFP) of Northern Ireland.  ‘The Space Between’ features 38 artworks from these public collections, north and south, and was chosen by a group of graphic design and illustration students from Ulster University, Belfast School of Art.
